LED profile selection

Waterproof LED profile choices for damp and covered areas

Choose the aluminum channel for the mounting plane, then specify how the complete line will be sealed.
  • Five published IP65-series sections cover flat, rounded and corner faces.
  • Strip-width limits differ by model.
  • Ends, joints and cable exits need their own sealing detail.
  • A sample can show how the chosen cover seats.

Where to start

Choose the waterproof LED profile section from the mounting detail

Start with exposure and mounting surface. A sheltered canopy corner and a counter edge need different sections and cable routes.
VST lists five aluminum sections in its Water-Proof IP65 series. WPR models have rounded faces, WPT1809 and WPT1813 are flat, and WPT2020 points diagonally from a corner. The IP65 designation does not make a loose channel waterproof. Cover seating, ends, joints, cable entry and the selected strip all affect the assembled run. Compare the intended exposure with the exact section, then assess a complete sample under the installation conditions. As a waterproof LED profile supplier, VST can match WPR or WPT geometry to a protected mounting detail.
✓

Section fit

Choose a waterproof LED strip light channel from its mounting plane: rounded, flat and corner forms solve different details.

✓

Strip interface

A 10 or 11 mm strip limit does not include an unplanned cable bend or crowded seal.

✓

Visible face

Rounded and flat covers affect the visible line, while end treatment determines protection continuity.

Supply support

How VST supports your waterproof LED profile selection

A waterproof LED profile manufacturer order needs a defined assembly. VST can work through the cover, ends and cable opening with the selected extrusion.
✓

Model-specific protected forms

The published IP65-series WPR and WPT sections provide rounded, flat and corner forms. Choose from the mounting plane and light direction, then check the sealing route for that exact shape.

✓

Sealing discussion

A cable hole or unfinished end can admit water even when the straight channel looks closed. VST can discuss those openings with the cover and strip as one assembly.

✓

Published dimensions

Each model has an outside section and maximum strip width. Comparing those limits with the sealing design reduces the chance that an apparently suitable strip crowds the cover or cable route.

✓

Sample fit

A section sample shows how the diffuser sits against the mounting surface. Use it to settle the cover and fixing detail before ordering a longer protected run.

Product scope

What a waterproof LED profile is in this range

A waterproof LED channel needs properly closed ends and cable openings; the housing section alone does not set the installed rating.
A waterproof LED profile is a housing intended to protect a strip in an assembled lighting line. The rated result belongs to the complete configuration and installation, including the cover, ends, cable route and joints. In this VST series, all five published housings are aluminum; shape and strip capacity vary by model. Do not read the IP65 series name as permission for immersion, permanent standing water or an unsealed field cut.

Selection details

Waterproof LED profile selection points

Match the section form and sealing detail to the exposure you expect.

IP65 series

The published family is identified as IP65; the installed assembly still needs correct sealing at every opening.

Rounded faces

WPR profiles offer a curved visible line for selected protected surfaces.

Flat faces

WPT1809 and WPT1813 suit planar runs where a straight visible diffuser is preferred.

Corner direction

WPT2020 places the light face diagonally at a protected corner rather than on a flat plane.

Construction

Parts that affect waterproof LED profile fit

A protected line depends on the housing, cover seat and every opening in the run.

Component 1

Aluminum housing

The rigid housing defines the mounting section and supports the protected light line. WPR1809 and WPT1809 are both nominally 18 by 9 mm, yet their visible face and internal shape differ. A flat mounting plane does not automatically suit a rounded variant. Use the exact model cross-section to reserve space for fixing, cover seating and any cable route before specifying a full run.

Component 2

Diffuser cover

The cover closes the visible opening and shapes the light line, but it is only one part of a protected assembly. Published specifications list PC or PMMA and several finishes. A poorly seated cover or a mismatched profile can leave a path for moisture regardless of the family name. Inspect cover engagement on a sample of the exact model before finalizing the installation method.

Component 3

Corner mounting face

The angled mounting face of WPT2020 places the diffuser diagonally across a protected corner. Its published 20 by 20 mm section needs a compatible wall or canopy return and enough fixing clearance. This geometry changes light direction compared with a flat WPT channel, so select it from the actual corner drawing. A sample can reveal where the extrusion meets the surface before the protected assembly is detailed.

The videos introduce VST and a customer perspective. Specify protection from the project assembly, not from a general video.

VST company overview

VST’s company video provides background on its lighting business. For this installation, use the WPR or WPT drawing and a complete sealed sample to assess exposure.

Customer perspective

The customer video describes working with VST. It cannot verify how your cable exit, end treatment or joints will perform in a damp location.

Where it fits

Plan a waterproof LED profile for its installation

For a waterproof LED profile OEM supplier inquiry, describe the exposure and every termination. A covered entrance run raises different concerns from a service counter.

Covered entrances

A sheltered entrance can use a slim protected line along the canopy edge. Note where rain can reach the fitting, what material will carry it and how the cable leaves the run. Send VST the mounting-plane drawing to narrow WPR or WPT sections and scope a sealed sample for that exposure.

Damp service counters

At a damp service counter, cleaning and splashes make strip edges vulnerable. Set the cleaning method and maintenance access before choosing a flat or rounded face. Ask VST for a shallow-section sample with its end treatment, then assess it at the counter under normal service conditions.

Canopy corner accents

A corner profile can send light down a façade or protected soffit while staying close to the structure. WPT2020 has a published angled section. Check the corner and fastener space, then let VST compare the drawing with the proposed cable exit before a sample is made.

Equipment perimeter lines

A panel-edge light line on sheltered equipment needs a fixing surface and service route that survive normal use. Check vibration, strip width and cable strain relief in the equipment drawing. Give VST that drawing to assess a flat WPT section and specify the sample assembly.

Sheltered retail façades

On a sheltered retail façade, the diffuser remains visible while joints and ends face changing moisture conditions. Inspect those transitions rather than relying on the straight center run. VST can help choose a published housing and discuss the sealing detail for the actual façade.

VST can discuss finish, cut length and diffuser face for WPR or WPT sections. Sealed ends and cable exits must be drawn for the assembled run; changing them changes the protection scope.
Extrude and finish the chosen WPR or WPT section, then define cover, end and cable details for the ordered assembly. Inspect each sealing interface.
  1. Check exposure and support.
  2. Mount the selected section.
  3. Route cable through the designed exit.
  4. Close ends and joints as specified.
  5. Evaluate the completed line.

Working with VST

Ordering waterproof LED profile profiles

A quotation should identify the section and sealing scope together.
01

Aluminum profiles generally start at about 300 meters, but sealing work, finish and accessory scope can change the practical MOQ. Identify the WPR or WPT model and the intended protected assembly so VST can quote the correct configuration.
02

Yes. VST can discuss a sample built around the chosen channel, cover and cable-exit concept. Any sample charge may be credited to a later bulk order when that arrangement is agreed. A loose extrusion sample does not validate the installed IP result.
03

Those details can be scoped with VST for the selected model. A nonstandard seal or new tool may add cost and production steps. The assembly drawing should define every opening before performance claims or order quantities are agreed.
04

Regular production is commonly 2-3 weeks; light customization is about 3-4 weeks, and extensive changes about 4-6 weeks. Sealing design and material availability can affect the actual schedule. These periods are for production and exclude shipping.
05

Sample orders can use PayPal, Western Union or bank transfer with 100% advance payment. Bulk orders typically use bank transfer, 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. Record the protected assembly scope on the quotation rather than only the channel code.
06

Please provide a brief issue description and photos or video of the affected assembly, especially the joint and cable exit. VST can examine a product quality issue and discuss replacement separately or with a following shipment; the cause must be identified first.

Product questions

Waterproof LED profile fit and installation faq

These questions address IP scope, field cuts and profile shape. A waterproof LED profile vendor should evaluate the finished run, including joints and cable entry, before a rating is claimed.

No. IP65 is a system-level protection claim for the intended assembled design.
Area Check
Cover Continuous seating
Ends Specified closure
Cable exit Sealed routing
Joints Protected continuity

An IP65-series channel should not be specified for immersion on the strength of that label. Submersion demands a different tested system and installation design. Describe the exposure, cleaning and drainage conditions so a suitable product category can be chosen before work starts.

WPT2020 is a 20 by 20 mm corner section and points its diffuser diagonally. Straight WPR and WPT models need different support planes. Compare the corner drawing and the intended beam direction before selecting the channel.

Cutting creates a new end and may change how a cover or seal terminates. The field-cut method, end closure and cable route need to be designed for the final run. Do not assume that a profile remains protected after an unplanned cut.

That depends on the complete assembly and exposure. A protected strip may add resilience, but it can also change its width and thermal behavior. Check the exact strip construction against the profile’s published usable width and the intended sealing arrangement.

Use the viewing position and mounting plane. A flat WPT face reads as a straight line on a flat panel; a WPR curved face creates a softer outline. Both still require a suitable strip, cover seating and protected ends for the specific project.
