Commercial Tube Retrofit

T8 LED Tube Light for Fixture-Matched Replacement

Start with your existing fixture. Its holders, wiring, length and light requirements will determine which T8 LED tube light to sample.
  • Published T8 options from 450mm to 2400mm
  • Holder and circuit checks, including ballast status and pin engagement
  • Model-specific diffuser, label and packing choices

Start with the fixture

A T8 tube that fits the circuit and the room

A T8 tube may fit between the holders yet still be wrong for the circuit. Check the holders, ballast, feed side and tube length before choosing a replacement.
VST lists seven T8 LED tube light models spanning compact display work through long industrial runs. Record the existing lamp and fixture, then check the actual holder and supply route before comparing wattage. A tube can physically enter a fitting and still be electrically wrong. The selected sample should be tested in the intended fixture, including light appearance and any diffuser or label changes. This T8 LED tube supplier can then quote the model, options and long-carton packing against a defined replacement route.
✓

Holder before wattage

Check the lampholder type, pin engagement and clearances before you compare power labels. A T8 shape does not establish the internal wiring of an existing fixture.

✓

Circuit route

Identify whether the circuit contains a ballast or needs a bypass and who is responsible for the change. Keep the approved wiring method with the sample record.

✓

Length and handling

Short and very long tubes present different fitting and transport questions. Check overall dimensions, fixture space and carton protection for the selected model.

✓

Light appearance

Compare output, CCT, CRI and clear or frosted cover options in the actual room. A bench photograph cannot establish glare or comfort after installation.

Model-level supply

What VST can check before release

VST, a T8 LED tube light manufacturer, can identify the exact tube, fixture interface, sample checks and available test records in its quotation.
✓

Published model range

VST publishes T8 models at 450, 600, 900, 970, 1200, 1500 and 2400mm nominal lengths. Each model has its own page so the quotation can identify one specific product.

✓

Fit discussion

Fixture photographs and a wiring description let the team flag holder or ballast questions before a sample is chosen. Electrical alterations still require the installer to follow local requirements.

✓

Photometric checks

VST describes integrating-sphere checks for output, color temperature and color rendering. Ask which measurement and documents apply to the exact tube and market.

✓

Order continuity

Keep the approved tube, diffuser, end cap, label and carton details with the order. That gives a repeat order a specific configuration to match.

✓

Export handling

Long tubes need packaging that protects ends and diffusers during transport. Confirm pack quantity and carton dimensions for the selected length before finalizing freight.

Product boundary

What makes a T8 replacement compatible

A T8 lamp's diameter tells you its format. It does not settle its length, wiring or compatibility with the fixture.
A T8 LED tube light combines an LED source, driver, housing, diffuser and end caps. The published VST T8 pages list 150 lm/W, AC85โ€“265V input, 160ยฐ beam and G13 or G5 base options; the exact ordered configuration still has to match the fixture. Before release, check overall length, holder, wiring, ballast condition and whether any optional IP65 version is required. A T8-to-LED project can change the circuit, so the installation method belongs in the sample and order record.

Selection Controls

Four checks that change the choice

Check the holder, circuit, light appearance and packing for the model you plan to order.

Fixture fit

The holder and tube ends must engage securely; a correct length label does not prove the fitting accepts the supplied end cap.

Wiring route

A documented feed and ballast decision prevents a mechanically suitable tube from being connected to the wrong circuit.

Diffuser choice

Clear and frosted PC covers change the visible lamp appearance; compare a sample in the real task area.

Long-carton protection

The selected length affects handling and packing. Agree on carton support before a mixed or long-run shipment.

Tube construction

Three physical details to approve

The LED board, housing and end caps each affect whether the tube suits your fixture.

Light source

LED board

The LED board and packages produce the light. Color and appearance depend on the selected LEDs, driver setting and diffuser, so compare the quoted model's CCT and CRI data with a sample. A T8 LED tube light supplier should carry the accepted optical configuration into production.

Housing

Aluminum profile

The extrusion supports the LED board and provides a thermal path along the tube. Its profile also determines how the diffuser and end caps meet, so a change in housing can affect fixture clearance even when nominal length remains similar. Check the actual diameter and overall length against the fitting before approving a replacement.

End cap

Pins and interface

End caps carry the mechanical interface to the lampholder. Different cap or rotating-end arrangements cannot be assumed interchangeable from a front photograph. Confirm pin style, orientation, retention and the approved wiring arrangement with the intended fixture. A physical sample is especially useful when an older fitting has limited clearance.

Applications

Where T8 fit matters most

The right tube depends on the existing fixture and what the space needs from the light.

Office ceiling retrofit

An office fixture can look like a standard T8 fitting while hiding a ballast or an unexpected supply route. Check the holders, wiring, length and required visual comfort. VST can suggest a published tube and supply a sample for the actual fitting before you replace the rest.

School corridors

Corridors often have many identical-looking fittings. Check their lamp length, holders, input voltage and CCT, as well as access for maintenance. VST can compare T8 options and set model-specific labels and cartons so replacement stock stays easy to identify.

Retail stock work

In a backroom or packing area, the retrofit should provide enough task light without unnecessary installation work. Check shelf positions, clearance, wiring and lamp appearance. VST can narrow the model choice and provide a sample; long tubes also need suitable carton protection for staged deliveries.

Dry workshops

A workshop tube may operate through long shifts above a workbench. Check mounting height, fixture type, dust exposure and voltage against the visibility needed for the task. VST can provide a sample and the published power and output data for the selected model.

Display equipment

A display or equipment fitting may leave little room around the pins and end caps. Measure the full available length and check holder engagement, wiring access and the host product's surface-temperature limits. VST can discuss a short T8 model or a supported custom interface, then supply a sample for fit testing.

A useful starting point

Check Your T8 Fixture Before Ordering

Send your existing tube length, photos of the fixture and holders, ballast or wiring details, voltage, target CCT, quantity and market. As your T8 LED tube light supplier, VST can recommend a published model, explain the sample checks and quote the exact configuration.

T8 Ordering Questions

Use the selected model to discuss samples, order quantities and terms.
01

Yes. Samples can be arranged to check physical fit, wiring route, light appearance and packaging. A sample charge can count toward a later production order if both sides agree before testing. There is no automatic free-sample or refund promise.
02

For a lower-power standard fixture, around 100 pieces can be a discussion starting point. Actual MOQ depends on length, end-cap choice, driver, labeling, cartons and customization. The quotation should state the minimum for the exact configuration.
03

VST supports private labels and custom packaging. Supply the artwork, required product information, carton marks and destination market. Any structural or tooling change should be separated from a simple label change before a price is approved.
04

Standard production commonly takes 2โ€“3 weeks after approvals and material readiness. Light customization typically takes 3โ€“4 weeks; extensive changes can take 4โ€“6 weeks. These are production ranges rather than guaranteed delivery dates, and transit is additional.
05

Regular lighting products commonly have 3- or 5-year options. The applicable term depends on the selected tube, components, operating conditions, market and agreement. Record it against the specific model rather than assuming the longest option applies.
06

Provide the model and order reference with a short description and clear photos or video. VST can assess the reported product issue and discuss replacement support, either separately or with the next shipment. Responsibility for unrelated damage should not be assumed.

Product Questions

T8 Replacement Decisions

These answers cover the fixture questions that remain after you have shortlisted a T8 LED tube light.

No. Tube diameter alone does not establish electrical compatibility. Check the holder, ballast, supply method, voltage, wiring side, fixture condition and local requirements. The installation route may involve ballast removal or a different compatible tube; record the chosen route before sampling.

Use the published overall dimension and the actual fitting measurement rather than a nominal foot label. A T8 LED tube light sold under a 1200mm category name may not equal the measured clearance in your fixture. For unusual fittings, send the old lamp and holder dimensions so VST can identify an appropriate sample.

Model example Published power Main check
450mm T8 7W Compact clearance and holder
1200mm T8 18W Fixture length and wiring
2400mm T8 36W Support, handling and carton

No. The published base options require a model-specific order check. Inspect the actual lampholder, pin spacing, mechanical engagement and circuit arrangement. A visually similar end cap can still be unsuitable, so match the sample to the intended fitting.

A frosted cover can reduce the visibility of individual LEDs where the tube is in direct view. A clear cover may suit a different task. Compare appearance and required illumination in a sample fixture; a catalog photo cannot establish comfort at your mounting position.

The published pages list IP20 with IP65 as an option. Treat the requested protection as a distinct configuration that must match the environment and the complete tube assembly, including ends and connections. Do not infer outdoor suitability from the rating alone.

Keep the exact model, length, base, wiring instruction, diffuser, CCT, label artwork and packing reference with the accepted sample. That record lets a later order be compared with the approved configuration when a component or installation condition changes.
