Slim Linear Retrofit

T5 LED Tube Options for Compact Commercial Fixtures

Measure the fitting before choosing a T5 LED tube. The available space, G5 holders and wiring determine which model can work. Then compare the light needed at the shelf or task surface.
  • Six published models across several power levels
  • G5 holder and clearance checks with a physical sample
  • Cover and light-appearance choices for display or task use

A narrow fit

Fit the tube before comparing light output

A T5 tube's slim body helps in a tight fitting only if its holders and power supply also match.
VST publishes T5 LED tube models at 600, 900, 1200 and 1500mm nominal lengths with several power choices. Their published dimensions show a 20mm diameter and lengths that must be compared with the real fitting. A G5 end cap does not explain whether an existing ballast remains in the circuit. Record the host fixture, wiring route and access for installation before selecting a sample. As a T5 LED tube supplier, VST can quote the exact model, diffuser and packaging for the replacement or integration task.
✓

Slim clearance

Measure the available channel, diffuser and holder space. The published D20 body helps narrow the route, but a physical sample settles tight mechanical fits.

✓

G5 engagement

Check pin spacing and retention in the actual holder. An apparently similar tube cannot be approved from its photograph alone.

✓

Electrical route

Identify voltage and ballast or bypass method before wiring. Keep the final circuit instruction with the model selected for the order.

✓

Display appearance

A shelf or cabinet places the light close to visible products. Compare CCT, diffuser and glare with a sample in the actual viewing direction.

Supply detail

Why the T5 proposal needs model control

VST, a T5 LED tube manufacturer, can list the model, G5 interface and sample checks in its quotation so you know which tube the order covers.
✓

Six published options

VST lists six T5 tube models. Their separate product pages let you compare lengths and power without treating the family as one specification.

✓

Fixture discussion

A photo of the old lamp and holder can reveal whether the proposed slim tube requires a different fitting or wiring step before installation.

✓

Sample appearance

Integrating-sphere checks support model-level output, CCT and CRI discussions. The visible result in a display still needs evaluation in the actual location.

✓

Customization route

The team can discuss CCT, cover, labeling and packaging where the chosen construction supports them. A deeper interface change needs separate engineering and sampling scope.

✓

Order records

Keep the approved dimensions, end caps, wiring and carton details with the order. They give the next shipment a clear specification to match.

T5 LED Tube Construction and Compatibility

T5 tells you the tube format. The specific model determines its dimensions and electrical requirements.
The published VST T5 LED tube series uses a D20 tube body, a G5 base, an internal constant-current driver and AC85โ€“265V input. It lists 150 lm/W and a 160ยฐ beam for the documented models, with IP20 and an optional IP65 route. These values apply to the published tube construction; they do not make a different integrated batten or old fluorescent fitting automatically compatible. Check the actual holder, overall length, circuit, diffuser and protection before treating one model as a direct replacement.

Compare T5 LED Tube Lengths and Power

The photo shows the T5 family, while each model page gives its actual overall length. VST, as a T5 LED tube manufacturer, can match those dimensions to your fitting.

Selection Controls

Four slim-tube decisions

A slim tube still needs checks for space, electrical connection and light appearance.

Narrow profile

The D20 body can fit a compact channel, but overall length and end-cap clearance still control the replacement.

G5 interface

G5 pin geometry is one mechanical check; the holder and approved wiring route complete the connection decision.

Close-range lighting

Where the tube is near merchandise or a desk, the diffuser and viewing direction matter as much as nominal output.

Model labeling

A clear model and carton reference helps separate similar lengths or power levels during receiving and repeat supply.

Parts that control the fit

The LED board, narrow profile and G5 end caps each matter in a tight installation.

Light source

LED board

The LED board carries the light source along the tube. Its placement, driver current and diffuser affect what you see at a nearby task surface. Published model efficacy does not replace a visual sample in a close-range display. Keep the CCT and cover choice tied to the approved T5 LED tube.

Housing

Slim body

The aluminum profile supports the board and gives the T5 tube its narrow outer diameter. Its actual length and relationship to the cover and end caps determine whether a restricted channel remains serviceable. Check physical clearance, contact with the holder and access for future replacement before finalizing a tight installation.

End cap

G5 pins

The end cap carries the G5 mechanical interface. Pin alignment, holder condition and retention must be checked on the host fitting; the term T5 alone cannot establish electrical compatibility. For an OEM project, record any supported interface change as a separate sample configuration rather than assuming a standard cap will fit.

Applications

Where a Slim T5 LED Tube Fits

Measure the space and view the sample from the position where the light will be used.
Wooden shelf displays candles and reed diffusers with a plant under a wall light.

Retail display shelves

A shelf fitting may need a slim source close to the merchandise. Check channel depth, holder access, cover appearance and reflections from the products on display. VST can compare the published T5 lengths and supply a sample to view in place.

Office task cabinets

A cabinet or task fitting needs room for its doors, contents and future lamp replacement. Measure the cavity and check the G5 holders, circuit and light color. VST can compare those details with a standard T5 model or discuss a supported custom interface.
Long indoor hallway with gray doors on the left, a metal wall panel, and storage shelves on the right under fluorescent lighting.

Hospitality service corridors

A back-of-house corridor needs a tube that fits and can be replaced without difficult access. Check the mounting, length, supply and cleaning exposure. VST can provide a published T5 model for evaluation and keep its cap, cover and carton details with later orders.

Equipment work areas

In a protected machine or workbench area, leave enough room for moving parts and maintenance. Check voltage, holder support, cable routing and the work surface that needs light. VST can discuss a T5 tube or a separate integrated fitting and sample the supported option.
Clean pharmacy counter with organized shelves of medication boxes, a plant on the left, and a cup holding scissors and pens on a white countertop.

Pharmacy counters

Counter lighting should make labels and small items readable without harsh reflections. Check the mounting position, color requirement, cover and available length. VST can recommend a published slim tube and supply a sample to judge at the counter.

T5 Supply Questions

Order quantity, labels and packaging depend on the model you choose.
01

Yes. A sample can be arranged to check G5 engagement, overall length, light appearance and packaging. A sample charge may be credited against a later bulk order only when agreed in advance. Provide the host fixture details so the sample answers the actual fit question.
02

No single quantity covers every model and option. For standard lower-power tubes, around 100 pieces can be an initial discussion point. The final MOQ depends on length, components, label, packing and customization and belongs in the quotation.
03

VST supports private labels and custom cartons. Share the required product data, artwork and destination market so placement and content can be checked. A structural change or special tooling should be quoted separately from ordinary label work.
04

For a standard T5 tube, allow about 2โ€“3 weeks in production once the model and materials are settled. A limited change normally needs 3โ€“4 weeks; deeper development usually needs 4โ€“6 weeks. Freight and approval delays are additional.
05

Regular lighting products commonly offer 3- or 5-year options. The selected model, driver, operating environment and commercial agreement determine the applicable term. Record the final coverage in the model-specific quotation.
06

When a tube fails, identify its model and order, describe the symptoms and attach photos or a short video. VST will assess the product issue and discuss a replacement item in a separate parcel or a later shipment.

Product Questions

T5 Fit and Interface Questions

These answers cover holder fit, circuit compatibility and close-range appearance for T5 LED tubes.

No. The G5 holder and nominal shape do not settle the electrical circuit. Identify the old ballast, feed path, voltage and local installation rules before making a replacement decision. A fixture photo and sample test are useful when the wiring is uncertain.

Compare the actual dimension on the selected model page with the holder-to-holder space and any nearby cover. The 1200mm nominal T5 models, for example, list a 1162mm body dimension. Measure the host fitting rather than selecting by the category name alone.

Nominal group Published power Main decision
600mm 10W Compact fit
1200mm 18W or 22W Task light level
1500mm 25W or 30W Longer span and output

No. Inspect the holder for pin retention, damage and clearance and confirm the circuit route. A lamp photograph cannot prove that a worn or differently wired fitting accepts the selected T5 construction.

An integrated batten includes its own housing and mounting arrangement. It is a different installation route from putting a T5 tube into an existing two-ended holder. Compare available space, wiring access, mounting surface and maintenance method before switching formats.

The published standard is IP20 with IP65 listed as an option. Specify the intended environment and verify the exact sealed assembly, end interfaces and wiring for the order. A bare tube photo cannot prove that an installation is protected from water.

Viewing angle and diffuser appearance become important at short distances. Compare a real sample under the intended shelf or display surface and check CCT, reflection and service access. Published efficacy alone does not tell you how comfortable the installation will look.
