SURFACE LED PROFILE

Surface LED Profile for Shelves and Display Lighting

VST is a surface mount channel supplier with low U, corner, lens and wall-edge forms. Pick the one that puts light where it is needed without leaving an awkward metal face.
  • Set the mounting plane and viewing angle.
  • Check the strip and cover in the chosen depth.
  • Inspect a lit sample at installation height.

Product overview

Where surface LED profile fits into your lighting design

Choose the visible face and light direction from the finished viewing position.
A surface LED profile fixes to a finished shelf, cabinet, wall or display. Its face and cover stay visible. VST lists low U, corner, lens and wall-indirect forms; choose by the light direction and normal viewing angle, then check the fixing method and cable exit on the actual surface.
✓

Visible fixing

A surface profile must sit cleanly on an already finished plane.

✓

Strip and cover depth

A shallow section may expose LED dots even when its cover fits.

✓

Direction of light

Select straight, corner, lens or indirect geometry for the surface and target.

✓

Cable exit

Plan the wire route before the profile is bonded or clipped into place.

VST supply support

How VST supports surface LED profile selection

VST's surface range includes low U, lens and indirect forms that put light in different places. As a surface aluminum profile manufacturer, VST can pair the chosen body with its cover and fixing parts for a sample on the actual shelf or wall.
✓

Documented variety

VST lists low U, corner, lens and wall-indirect surface sections. These are different mounting and light-direction choices, not interchangeable finishes on one body.

✓

Sightline checks

In a glass display, reflections change how the diffuser and metal face look. A lit section at the intended height makes the choice easier.

✓

Fixing detail

The selected body has to match its clip, screw position or host-panel fixing. Test that interface on the same substrate used in the project.

✓

Repeat appearance

For repeated shelves, approve one finish and cover with the profile body. The first bay can then serve as the appearance reference for the rest.

Selection basis

What defines surface LED profile

Surface forms are selected by fixing plane, internal depth and light direction.
The finished surface determines the starting shape. A shallow U channel sits on a flat plane. A corner body aims light from a junction. A lens directs it more tightly, while an indirect section hides the source behind an edge. The surface mounted LED profile also needs room for the strip and cable. Its outside width does not tell you whether the cover and mounting parts will fit.

Configuration references

Compare surface LED profile forms

The five shortlisted sections answer different mounting needs: low U channels for shelves, a corner body for furniture, a lens for directed display light and an indirect wall form. VST can check the cover, fixing parts and finish for each selected model.

Practical checks

Details that protect the surface LED profile decision

Check the fixing plane, cover fit and lit sample on the actual surface.

Visible mounting

Mark the finished face and profile position on the host drawing. That placement determines how much metal remains visible after fitting.

Shallow channel fit

Fit the intended strip and cover in the shallow U section. A quick assembly trial can reveal diffuser interference before the channel is fixed to a finished shelf.

Glass sightline

View a lit sample through glass before choosing a display channel. Glass can change the apparent light line at ordinary viewing angles.

Finish protection

End caps and covers should be protected from scuffs in transit. This matters when exposed aluminum is part of the store finish.

Component decisions

Parts that shape the surface LED profile assembly

A visible surface line needs the metal body, diffuser and LED packages evaluated from the actual viewing position.

Housing

Low aluminum body

SU1806 is low enough to sit close to a shelf or display face, where the aluminum remains visible. Its outside width is not the space available for the strip. Check the cavity and the route for the cable on a cut section, then set it against the actual shelf material. That trial also shows whether the chosen fixing method leaves the intended face exposed.

Optical component

Curved diffuser

The curved diffuser is part of what the viewer sees on a shallow surface run. Seat it in the SU1806 body with the intended strip, then inspect it through the display glass or from shelf height. Opacity and the distance to the LEDs determine whether separate points show through. The cover also needs to stay secure when the section is handled and cut.

Light source

LED packages

LED package spacing affects the pattern under a shallow cover. A dense strip may give a smoother line, but the result also depends on diffuser opacity and viewing distance. Test the actual strip in SU1806 from the customer-facing position. Use that strip's data sheet for voltage, power and optical figures; the profile section cannot supply those values.

Company perspective

VST support for visible profiles

The company and customer videos give background on the team. A surface-profile decision is best made with a lit section at the height and angle where it will be seen.

VST overview

VST's company film is an introduction to its lighting business. For a visible shelf or wall line, request the exact surface section and diffuser finish you plan to use. Their appearance on the finished material is the useful approval point.

Customer account

The customer video offers one account of working with VST. For your installation, inspect the shortlisted U, corner, lens or indirect section from the viewing position that matters. The profile and diffuser sample will show the appearance of your own design.

Application guide

Choose surface LED profile by installation task

Send VST the shelf, cabinet or wall detail and the viewing position. The team can compare the SU, SC, SAL and SW forms against that surface so you can select a body and diffuser to sample.

Retail display shelves

A retail shelf places the channel near merchandise and within easy view. Check the strip spacing, diffuser finish and the line seen from the aisle, including the visible end cap. A SU1506 section with its cover from VST lets the display team judge the result on a real shelf.

Glass showcases

Glass can reflect individual LEDs and make a low channel look larger than it does on the workbench. Set the viewing angles, strip width and cable route inside the showcase. For a lit trial under the actual glazing, VST can pair a SU1806 sample with the proposed diffuser.

Furniture corners

A furniture corner can aim light across a shelf without adding a separate bracket. Check the panel angle, door clearance and space for the wire. Ask VST for an SC1919J section so the assembly team can check alignment against the finished furniture drawing and panel joints.

Focused display accents

A lens channel suits a display where the light should land on one object. Set the mounting distance and target area, then inspect the beam on a physical sample; a nominal angle alone will not show the effect in the fixture. The SAL1120 lens choice can be sampled through VST for a trial layout around the display object.

Wall-edge coves

Along a wall return, an indirect profile hides the strip from normal view and lights the adjoining surface. Check the return depth, wall finish and access to the cover. A short SW1713 section from VST lets the team see how the line reads after installation.

Request a profile review

Specify the right surface LED profile for your project

Send the shelf, wall or furniture drawing, strip width, viewing angle and quantity. As a surface LED channel supplier, VST can identify a published section and the sample parts needed to check the finished line.

Cover options PC / PMMA
Standard length 2m
Listed accessories Metal clips; end caps with or without hole
As a surface LED profile supplier, VST lists SU1506 with silver, black or white finishes, PC or PMMA covers, metal clips and end caps. Its standard length is 2 m. For a visible shelf line, confirm the chosen finish and diffuser together on a lit sample; other models need their own option check.
The aluminum section is extruded, finished and cut. Pack the exposed metal face and cover separately enough to prevent scuffs that would remain visible after installation.
Clean and assess the fixing plane, check clip or screw positions, route the cable, then evaluate a lit section from the real viewing position before installing repeated lengths.

Working with VST

Supply questions for surface LED profile

A quote for surface sections should separate models, finishes and their matching covers.
01

VST can act as a surface profile OEM supplier for a selected furniture or display line. Request the exact metal section with its mating diffuser to inspect both the visible face and cover retention. Sample charges and any later credit against a bulk order must be agreed for that configuration.
02

The SU1506 page allows discussion from 100 meters for regular stock, and other surface models may have their own stocked terms. A new finish or production run may start around 300 meters as a planning guide. Request the MOQ by model and configuration instead of applying one figure to every section.
03

A regular section usually needs about 2-3 weeks of production. A finish or accessory change may take around 3-4 weeks; extensive customization can take about 4-6 weeks. Those ranges do not include shipping.
04

Yes. Tell VST which faces and covers remain visible after fitting. The packing plan can then separate finished aluminum from diffusers and end caps that might rub against it during transit.

Product questions

Practical surface LED profile decisions

A surface channel remains visible, and shallow profiles make LED dots, end caps and mounting errors easier to notice. The questions here address fitting a finished room, controlling the light line, choosing accessories and deciding whether a straight body can follow a curve.

Often, yes, if the substrate accepts the selected fixing method and a safe cable route remains available. Check the visible face and access for covers and end caps. A finished wall does not automatically have enough concealed wiring space.

They solve different light-placement tasks.
Form Typical decision
U Low-profile strip containment
Corner Diagonal output from a junction
Lens More directed light distribution

LED dots depend on emitter spacing, diffuser opacity, channel depth and viewing distance. A frosted cover may still show widely spaced points in a shallow section. Light the proposed strip inside the chosen profile and judge it from the position where it will be seen.

Clip and end-cap sets vary by model and order. Put the mounting surface, fixing method and required end treatment beside the profile code on the component list. VST can identify parts for that section; a universal kit should not be assumed.

A rigid straight aluminum section should not be forced around a curve. For a curved edge, ask for a documented flexible-profile option and its permitted bend direction. Test the chosen form on the actual radius before it is written into the installation detail.
