Programmable color strips

RGB addressable LED strip for controlled color effects

Control separate color sections in a sign, shelf or cove. VST is an RGB addressable LED strip supplier with SMD and COB models to match your control system.

  • Compare voltage, pixel grouping and data protocol.
  • Plan power feeds and leave connections accessible.
  • Choose SMD points or a COB light line for the viewing distance.
  • Test a sample with the controller you intend to use.

Product selection

Match the programmed effect to the installation

A programmed shelf, sign or cove needs the controller, pixels and power feeds to work together. Decide how the effect will run in the finished assembly before you select the reel.
An RGB addressable LED strip accepts digital commands for individual LEDs or groups. A digital RGB LED strip needs a compatible protocol, supply voltage and data direction. VST is an RGB addressable LED strip manufacturer with seven listed RGB digital models across SMD and COB constructions. Their comparison below includes power, LED density, PCB width and cutting interval. Select the controller only after obtaining the exact IC, protocol and pixel-grouping information for the model.
✓

Controller match

Check the controller output and IC protocol against the strip. The RGB label alone does not establish signal or electrical compatibility.

✓

Pixel scale

Choose the size of each controlled section for your effect, then check pixel grouping and the model's cutting interval.

✓

Service access

Keep power and data joints reachable after installation. This matters particularly in enclosed signs and sealed display housings.

✓

Sample the scene

Run a sample behind the intended diffuser at the viewing distance you expect. Check the sequence before approving the assembled design.

Control format

What makes the strip addressable?

Addressable strips control individual LEDs or defined groups. Conventional analog RGB strips apply one color to the whole connected section.
For an RGB addressable LED strip, check the IC protocol and controller output together. Also establish data direction, supply voltage and the number of LEDs in each controlled section. COB and SMD change the visible light line without defining the signal protocol. A 5V display and a 24V cove can both be addressable, with different supply and feed requirements. Specify the circuit and installation together so the chosen strip produces the effect you need.

Selection factors

Four details to check

Use the light source, signal path and protection requirement to narrow the sample choice.

LED source choice

SMD points and COB light lines suit different viewing distances. Compare each construction in the intended channel before you choose a sample.

Circuit planning

Supply voltage and data direction shape the wiring layout. Match the strip's circuit to the controller you intend to use.

Protection options

Protection depends on the model and finished construction. Describe exposure and terminations before choosing an ingress option.

Sample evaluation

Use the intended sequence on a sample to check grouping and transitions. View the effect from the installed position.

Construction

Light source and circuit construction

At our digital RGB LED strip factory, the light source, PCB and control circuit can be checked against the configuration selected for sampling.

Light source

Individual LED packages

The separate LED packages on an SMD addressable strip create visible points along the line. Their spacing and the diffuser affect what you see from nearby. In a shallow display, examine the source through the actual cover. VST can help compare a listed SMD model with the enclosure dimensions and programmed effect you need.

Circuit

Flexible PCB

The flexible PCB carries power and data through the RGB addressable LED strip. Its width must fit the channel, while the marked pads and data direction determine cutting and connection. Plan accessible feeds before closing the housing. Match the circuit to the controller and supply so the data path remains correct through each prepared section.

Emitting surface

COB encapsulated line

A COB addressable strip has a continuous emitting surface that can suit a channel viewed from nearby. The surface construction does not determine controller protocol or power requirements. Test the chosen model through your cover at the intended distance. That lets you judge the visible line while checking the digital circuit separately.

Choose by application

Where programmed color earns its space

As an RGB addressable LED strip OEM supplier, VST can help plan prepared lengths around the installation. Each application below has different control and access requirements.

Signage returns

An illuminated sign return can use addressable RGB to animate a shallow outline with separate color sections. Check the return depth, data direction and access to the controller before enclosing the sign. VST can help choose a sample length and lead exit for the channel, with protocol compatibility checked against your controller.

Retail showcases

Short programmed accents on a showcase shelf can draw attention to merchandise while hiding the strip from normal sightlines. Check the viewing distance, diffuser and power entry against the shelf construction. A VST model comparison and mounted sample let you see how the effect looks on the displayed products.

Exhibition structures

Booth panels need programmed edges that can be disconnected and assembled again without damaging the joints. Establish panel lengths, connection points and the sequence before selecting sections. VST can help plan cut positions and prepared leads for the module, keeping a route to replace a section after the booth is built.

Equipment bezels

A digital strip inside an equipment fascia can indicate operating states or create a color signature. Check PCB clearance, bend direction and the data interface in the complete assembly. VST can help compare narrow models and lead routes so the bezel leaves enough room for connections and future service.

Architectural coves

An architectural cove can carry a longer programmed color run with planned feeds and mounting support. Check the wall wash, profile depth and access to power connections before closing the ceiling detail. VST can help shortlist a voltage and strip construction, then discuss a sample for the actual cove.

Technical planning

Compare all seven listed addressable RGB models

Compare all seven RGB digital models by voltage, load, PCB width and the published cut value. Exact IC, protocol and pixel grouping are not stated in their technical fields and need a circuit sheet for the selected model.

For the selected model, ask about protocol, lead direction, PCB width and prepared reel length. A new control circuit requires a separate development request.
VST's strip production follows the selected circuit and light source. Specify electrical, visual and color checks for the sample and carry those requirements into the order.
Disconnect power before cutting at the model's marked positions. Observe data direction, verify supply voltage and controller output, secure the strip on a suitable surface and test the effect before closing the profile.

Ordering and cooperation questions

The quote should identify the circuit and sample setup alongside quantity, production and payment terms.
01

Yes. Send the controller model and intended effect so VST can discuss a relevant addressable sample. Sample charges may be credited to a later bulk order by agreement.
02

LED strip orders generally start around 500 meters. The exact model and customization determine the quoted minimum; prepared leads or a dedicated control version may require a different quantity.
03

For an approved model, ask about leads, connectors, labels and packaging. A deeper electrical change may involve development or tooling charges, with the scope and terms agreed before work starts.
04

Regular strip production is typically 2 to 3 weeks. Light customization usually needs about 3 to 4 weeks, while extensive customization is commonly 4 to 6 weeks. These are production ranges, excluding freight.
05

LED strips generally have 2- or 3-year warranty options; selected products may offer 5 years. The actual term follows the specified model and order documents, not the category name.
06

Bulk orders usually use bank transfer with a 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. Sample orders can use PayPal, Western Union or bank transfer with full advance payment.

Product decisions

Addressable strip questions

Choosing an RGB addressable LED strip also means checking how it will behave on your controller. These answers cover protocol fit, visual construction and the power or connection details that can affect the programmed result.

Match the controller to the exact IC, data protocol, output voltage and pixel grouping of the RGB addressable LED strip. The seven model tables identify Addressable control but do not state those circuit details. Ask VST for the selected model's control sheet before deciding compatibility; SPI or DMX labels alone do not establish the complete interface.

Use viewing distance and the desired point pattern to decide. COB can produce a more continuous line in a shallow channel; SMD has separate packages that may suit a diffuser or more distant view. Compare samples behind the same cover when appearance will determine the choice.

Feed positions depend on length, voltage, load, conductor size and acceptable voltage drop. Calculate them for the chosen model. Share your section lengths and installation drawing with VST to discuss practical feed points that remain accessible after installation.

No. The controller and addressable circuit define what each programmed section can do.
