LED Tube Light for Reliable Retrofit Specification

Match the tube to the existing fixture, base, wiring, voltage, environment, and required light before comparing wattage or price.
  • T5, T8, integrated, and waterproof routes
  • Base, wiring, voltage, and fixture-fit checks
  • Samples and packing checks before bulk production

Retrofit Fit First

Replace the Tube Without Creating a Fixture Mismatch

An LED tube light must match the fixture's physical interface, wiring, electrical input, and installation environment.
Record the old lamp length, diameter, pin arrangement, fixture photos, ballast condition, mains voltage, wiring, diffuser preference, CCT, quantity, and market. VST can compare T5, T8, integrated, rotating-cap, waterproof, and special-base directions. The result should define the replacement route and sample plan. Verify the holder because tube lamps do not all use the same type.

Tube Selection

What Defines an LED Tube Light Configuration

The complete interface determines whether a tube is suitable for the fixture.
An LED tube light combines physical format, cap, electrical input, driver and wiring route, light source, housing, diffuser, and environmental construction. T5 and T8 describe tube families, but do not confirm wiring or base. Integrated battens, rotating end caps, double-ended or single-ended wiring, and waterproof assemblies follow different installation logic.

Tube Configuration Paths

Select by Fixture Interface and Environment

These cards represent distinct tube routes. Match the holder, wiring, enclosure, and application before requesting a final model. An LED tube manufacturer should keep every card linked to a real interface and application.

Inside the Tube Assembly

Three Parts That Control Compatibility

The LED layout, aluminum body, and end-cap interface solve different optical, thermal, and installation problems.

Primary Light Source

LED Package and Layout

LED package and spacing influence efficacy, color consistency, heat, and visible uniformity. An LED tube factory should evaluate the source with drive current, board, housing, and diffuser. A tube sample should show the actual LED layout behind the selected diffuser, allowing light appearance and heat behavior to be reviewed together. A lit tube photograph cannot confirm color bin or driver current; use the approved sample and model data for those checks.

Mechanical Body

Aluminum Housing

The aluminum body supports the board, moves heat, and keeps the tube straight. Cross-section, contact path, diffuser fit, and fixture clearance must suit the intended length. Document the accepted extrusion, board contact, diffuser engagement, straightness, and cap fit before the long housing enters bulk production. The extrusion also sets the physical relationship between the board, cover, and end caps, making dimensional consistency important for repeat orders.

Fixture Interface

End Cap and Pins

Pin pattern, cap dimensions, rotation, wiring route, insulation, and assembly must match the real fixture. VST can review photos, lamp details, or a sample. The approved end-cap sample should become the reference for pin geometry, rotation, insulation, wiring side, labeling, and fixture engagement. A small pin or rotation mismatch can make an otherwise suitable lamp unusable in an existing fixture, so fit should be checked physically.

Warehouse Aisle Replacement

Elevated fixtures require attention to access, output, distribution, circuits, and relamping. Confirm length, wattage target, voltage, holder, wiring, mounting height, and quantity. VST can review longer T8 platforms and packaging. Longer T8 platforms, project pack quantities, carton reinforcement, and batch labels can be coordinated around the aisle installation plan.

Confirm the Existing Fixture

Get an LED Tube Light Configuration Review

Send lamp length, base, fixture photos, voltage, ballast or wiring condition, CCT, quantity, market, and packaging needs. An LED tube light sample should be checked in the intended fixture before a bulk release. VST can then identify the supported tube configuration, sample checks, and packing route.

Working with VST

LED Tube Supply and Order Questions

These company-level answers address sampling, quantity, branding, timing, warranty, and issue handling for a tube program.
01

Yes. A tube sample can be prepared for fixture fit, base engagement, wiring, light appearance, label, and packaging checks. A credit toward the subsequent production order is possible only when both parties approve that condition in advance; free or automatic refunds are not implied.
02

A starting point around 100 pieces may be discussed for a standard lower-power tube, but length, base, driver, waterproof structure, customization, and carton design can change the MOQ. The quoted configuration provides the applicable commitment.
03

Yes. VST can review lamp labels, color sleeves, barcode placement, carton marks, pack quantity, end supports, and export protection. Provide artwork and receiving requirements early because long-product packaging affects both handling and shipping volume.
04

A regular tube usually requires 2โ€“3 weeks for production. Light changes commonly need about 3โ€“4 weeks, while extensive structural or electrical customization may need 4โ€“6 weeks. Transit time and unapproved samples are outside these ranges.
05

Regular tube models commonly have 3- or 5-year warranty options, depending on the driver, components, operating conditions, market, and order terms. Confirm the coverage for the exact model rather than assigning the longest option to every tube.
06

Provide the tube model, batch or order reference, fixture and wiring context, issue description, and photos or video. The team will assess whether the supplied tube caused the problem and, when a product defect is confirmed, propose replacement handling without accepting unrelated fixture damage.

Product Questions

LED Tube Compatibility and Selection Questions

The answers below address remaining tube compatibility, interface, electrical, optical, and first-sample decisions rather than repeating company policies. The final LED tube light choice should remain tied to the approved fixture interface.

Similar length does not establish electrical or mechanical compatibility. Check the holder, base, ballast, voltage, wiring method, fixture condition, space, and local requirements. Some projects use ballast-compatible tubes, others require bypass wiring, and some are better converted to an integrated fitting.

Check Why it matters
Length and diameter Physical fit and cover clearance
Base or pin type Holder compatibility
Wiring and ballast Electrical connection route
Environment Enclosure and protection need

T5 and T8 identify tube families with different physical formats and common interfaces; the exact cap and wiring still need verification. An integrated tube includes its fitting or connection arrangement and may not fit a traditional lampholder. Select by the complete fixture system, not diameter alone.

A rotating cap can orient the light-emitting surface after installation in a fixed holder, but the selected model and fixture must support it. Confirm rotation range, locking, pin alignment, wiring method, diffuser direction, and available clearance on a physical sample.

Part Review
End seals Fit, compression, and assembly
Cable entry Gland, connector, and routing
Mounting Clips, orientation, and drainage
Driver Location and enclosure protection

Wattage indicates electrical input. It does not fully measure useful light. Compare lumen output, distribution, diffuser, mounting height, task, glare, efficacy, and fixture condition. A correctly selected lower-wattage tube may suit the space better than a brighter but uncomfortable option.

Check length, diameter, pin alignment, holder engagement, wiring instructions, startup behavior, visible flicker, CCT, color appearance, diffuser uniformity, heat, noise, label, and packaging. Record the approved configuration and every change request before bulk production is released.
