Strip mounting systems

Choose an LED Channel That Fits the Complete Assembly

Start with the mounting detail and strip, then select a channel, cover and end treatment that fit together. VST can shortlist an LED channel and supply a sample section for assembly checks.
  • Surface, corner, recessed and plaster-in sections
  • Suspended and larger-section options
  • Published dimensions and usable strip clearances
  • Matched cover, finish and accessory discussions

Product selection

Allow space for the connection as well as the strip

A board may fit a channel while its solder joint or connector prevents the cover from closing. Check the complete assembly before ordering lengths.
As an LED channel supplier, VST can compare an aluminium section with the mounting surface, selected strip and required cover. The channel is a passive part: it does not set the stripโ€™s voltage or control type. Decide how it will be fixed and serviced, then check the usable internal space. A short section sample makes the cover engagement, cable exit and end-cap fit easier to judge than a perspective drawing alone.
✓

Mounting interface

A surface channel, recessed lip and plaster-in flange attach differently. Match the section to the actual furniture panel or building detail before choosing its visible width.

✓

Connection clearance

Include the strip, solder joints and connector height in the fit check. Measure the usable space below the diffuser separately from the profileโ€™s outside dimensions.

✓

Cover access

Consider how the cover will be removed after installation. Nearby shelves, end stops or a finished ceiling can obstruct an otherwise straightforward service task.

✓

Installed exposure

Describe moisture, cleaning and temperature conditions. For exterior use, assess the completed channel, strip, cable entry and sealing method together.

Working with VST

Coordinate the section and the parts around it

VST is an LED channel manufacturer with structural support for section selection, assembly samples and model-specific accessory matching.
✓

Drawing-based fit checks

VST can compare the section drawing with the host opening and strip assembly. This distinguishes external dimensions from the space actually available for components.

✓

Parts selected as a set

Discuss the cover, end caps and fixings with the extrusion model. Matching them before sampling reduces the chance of receiving parts that look similar but do not engage.

✓

Finish samples

Silver, black and white finishes may use different treatments. Choose the specified surface process and sample appearance before approving a larger run of channel lengths.

✓

Packing for long sections

Cut lengths and transport constraints affect the packing plan. VST can discuss protection for covers, finishes and cut ends with shipment coordination for the order.

Product construction

A mounting channel is part of a lighting assembly

An LED strip channel supports the source and locates its cover, but the completed light also depends on electrical and installation choices.
The extrusion sets the physical route and mounting interface. A matching diffuser changes the visible line and protects the opening, while end treatment accommodates closure and cable routing. An LED channel can therefore fit the same strip differently depending on the section, cover and connector. Test those parts together. The strip and driver remain responsible for electrical and lighting performance. Outdoor protection, thermal limits and any mechanical load rating need evidence for the complete arrangement; a bare aluminium section or the word waterproof in a family name is not enough.

Product configurations

Start with the installation method

VST can supply the following section types as your LED channel OEM supplier. Each product link identifies the model behind the mounting choice.

Configuration checks

Fit from the strip to the host

The section, cover and access route need to work together after installation.

Usable strip space

Published strip-clearance data helps narrow the section. Include connectors and cover engagement in the final fit check before preparing a production assembly.

Retaining geometry

A cover needs the correct edge shape to engage with its channel. Equal nominal width is not enough to establish compatibility.

Cut-length planning

An LED strip light channel needs room for end caps and cable exits. Distinguish extrusion cut length from the length of the finished assembly.

A serviceable installation

Plan access to the cover and electrical parts before closing furniture or ceiling details. The fixing location can affect future removal as much as the section shape.

Component detail

Aluminium extrusion

The aluminium body supports the strip and forms the interface with the host structure. Its grooves, lips and mounting faces need to suit the selected cover and fixing method. The installed strip and ambient conditions determine the thermal duty, so an LED channel cannot be assigned one universal watts-per-meter capacity. Check the assembled thermal conditions when selecting a higher-power source for a confined section.

Component detail

Diffuser cover

The diffuserโ€™s material and finish affect transmission and the visibility of individual LEDs. Published cover options vary by model and include clear, frosted and opal appearances. Its edges must engage with the matching channel along the installed length. Use a complete sample with the intended strip and viewing position to judge the light line, rather than assuming every milky cover produces the same appearance.

Component detail

End cap

The end cap closes the section and may provide a cable exit in a supported version. Select it for the actual extrusion and allow room for the termination behind it. Cable routing, strain relief and any required seal belong in the assembly plan. An end capโ€™s appearance does not establish an ingress rating; use the closure method specified for the selected channel and exposure.

The customer video provides context on working with VST. Clear comments on the cover fit, surface finish and packing help turn a section sample into an order with understandable requirements.

Applications

Channel integration by location

The surrounding construction sets the fixing, access and exposure requirements.
Wooden kitchen shelf under-cabinet light with ceramic bowls on the left, a jar of pasta in the center, and a small potted plant on the right.

Furniture shelf lighting

A shelf can house a compact light line while keeping the strip out of direct contact with stored items. Measure the recess, connection space and clearance for removing the cover. VST can propose an LED channel with matching sample parts for checking against the actual furniture panel and selected strip.

Suspended office lines

A suspended linear assembly needs suitable light directions and dependable attachment to the building structure. Check the strip positions, suspension method, driver location and maintenance access. VST can compare documented suspended sections and provide a drawing and sample to coordinate the profile with the planned office installation.

Plaster-in ceiling reveals

A plastered ceiling can integrate an LED channel at a narrow visible light opening. Establish the ceiling build-up, flange position and protection needed during finishing. VST can supply a relevant section drawing and sample so the ceiling team can check the junction before completing the surrounding surface.

Corner product displays

A corner section can direct shelf lighting toward displayed items from the upper inside junction. Check the emitting-face orientation, viewing angles and the route to the power equipment. VST can compare corner sections and prepare a covered sample to assess the actual shelf depth, merchandise and finish.

Sheltered exterior soffits

A sheltered soffit may need a discreet light line but can still experience moisture, temperature changes and cleaning. Describe the actual exposure, cable entry and required protection of the finished assembly. VST can identify a sealing-oriented channel candidate and discuss the compatible strip and closure details before sampling.

Your next step

Discuss your assembly with an LED channel supplier

Send a mounting sketch or photo, the strip width and approximate lengths. VST can shortlist a section, identify matching parts and quote a sample set for checking the connection and cover fit.

Ordering and cooperation

Channel sampling and production

Section, finish and cut requirements determine the order scope.
01

Yes. Specify the cover and accessories you want to test with the strip. Agree the sample charge and any later bulk-order credit before preparation. Use the sample to check the actual connection and host opening.
02

The general starting quantity for aluminium profiles is 300 meters. Section, finish, cut schedule and any new tooling affect the final minimum. VST will state the applicable quantity for the selected model and accessory set.
03

Drawing-based development can be discussed. A new cross-section may require engineering, samples and tooling charges. Establish the mounting and assembly requirements before committing to tooling; changing a finish has a different scope from designing a new extrusion.
04

Standard production generally needs 2 to 3 weeks. Light customization typically takes 3 to 4 weeks, and extensive development 4 to 6. The section, finish and material availability affect timing. Add approval and transport time to the production plan.
05

Yes. Discuss model labels, carton marks and handling requirements with the cut schedule. Packing should protect the finish and cover edges while making the sections distinguishable during receiving and assembly.
06

Samples are fully prepaid through bank transfer, PayPal or Western Union. For bulk profiles, the bank-transfer terms are a 30% deposit followed by the remaining 70% before shipment. Any separate tooling payment belongs in the quotation.

Product questions

Assembly and exposure questions

Select an LED channel around the finished assembly, including its electrical parts and the conditions at the site. Resolve the remaining length, accessory and installation limits before releasing a cut schedule.

Length Include
Metal cut length The extrusion itself
Cover length Its specified end allowance
Finished assembly End caps and connection clearance

Do not assume they are. Identify whether the quotation covers bare channel parts or a prepared lighting assembly. If a strip and driver are required, specify their electrical and lighting functions separately from the LED channel model.

An exterior LED channel assembly needs a defined exposure and protection requirement. Ask about the selected cover, end caps, cable entry and sealing method as a complete system. Ordinary indoor channel parts should not be treated as an outdoor-rated light simply by adding a coated strip.

Use a documented bendable construction with the correct bend direction and radius for that design. Bending a conventional straight section can distort the cover retention and mounting faces. Send the intended curve before choosing the section.

Only where the selected assembly has evidence for the required load, cover, fixing and substrate. A section family name or a drawing of a stair application does not establish walk-over or structural capacity.

That depends on cut quality, alignment, strip cutting intervals and the cover joints. Plan the metal, source and cover lengths together, then assess a representative joint in place. A continuous-looking drawing does not guarantee an invisible break in the completed LED channel assembly.
