Short-run digital color
5V RGB LED strip for compact display assemblies
- Control method identified with the IC or protocol
- Board width checked with lead clearance
- Cut positions planned for each finished section
Product fit
Match the 5V supply and digital controls
Name the control method
Specify the IC or controller protocol as well as the voltage. A 5V strip may use analog RGB or addressable digital control.
Choose board width
Compare the 5mm and 10mm PCBs with your channel. Allow room for the leads and connection as well as the board.
Check each section
The two models have different cutting intervals. Plan finished lengths and connection pads from the data for the SKU you will order.
Plan power injection
Estimate current and voltage drop for the section and active scene. Verify the far end on a powered sample before deciding on additional feeds.

Working with VST
Compare the 5mm and 10mm models
Narrow-board option
C180RGBD1405 has a listed 5mm board and 12.5mm cutting interval for equipment integration with limited mechanical space.
Showcase option
C180RGBD1410 has a listed 10mm board and 11.1mm cutting interval for display applications. Check board clearance and the lead path in your channel.
Data-path review
Review the IC and controller with VST, including data direction and connection access, before fitting the digital RGB strip into a larger assembly.
Model-specific samples
Use a powered sample to test the sequence and voltage at the far end of the proposed section. A static reel image cannot establish that operating behavior.

Configuration details
Check the section under its intended scene

Data protocol identified
Match the IC protocol and signal direction to the controller, with the correct electrical supply for the strip.

Short cut intervals
Plan complete 12.5mm or 11.1mm sections from the specification of the model you choose.

Far-end effect check
Run the intended scene on the section and check whether the last pixels respond consistently.

Routed signal leads
Route power and data leads through connections that the enclosure allows you to assemble and reach for service.
