Large-area projects

Plan the Whole Installation Around a 500W LED Floodlight

Lifting equipment, structural support and commissioning can account for much of the work on a project. Settle these requirements early to avoid leaving costly questions until installation.
Consider a 500W LED flood light where a large exterior task needs substantial directional output. Choose the optic and aiming plan for that task. At ports and major logistics sites, identify who is responsible for the luminaire, mast design, circuit protection and environmental requirements. VST can provide product data and discuss the fixture options while the site teams design the supporting systems. Agree these responsibilities and identify missing evidence before releasing the order.
✓

Structural interface

Give the proposed mounting details to the structural designer. Fixture mass and dimensions are inputs to the assessment; wind loads and support suitability still need to be checked.

✓

Commissioning access

Plan how the installation team will reach the aiming fasteners and connection. A location that is difficult to access later makes a clear initial setup more valuable.

✓

Performance evidence

List the photometric data required for the lighting calculation and the product dimensions needed for mounting checks. VST can identify the available information for the selected version.

✓

Supply boundaries

Separate the fixture from mast, crossarm, control cabinet and field wiring requirements. Each interface should have an assigned scope before the quotation is accepted.

Engineering-led supply

Optical selection and product data for your project

As your 500W LED flood light manufacturer, VST can help select optics, supply published product data and identify the details needed for a technical quotation.
✓

Lighting design support

VST uses DIALux to assess proposed layouts and beam choices. Share the mounting positions and site targets to support that comparison.

✓

Optical testing capability

Discuss integrating-sphere measurements of output, CCT and color rendering, plus darkroom photometric data. VST can identify records available for your selected build.

✓

Cross-discipline discussion

VST's engineers can address fixture connections and mounting details. Your site team can use this information to assess support and wiring, including a third-party mast.

✓

Documented customization

Have VST assess changes to finish, controls or mechanical details before committing them to the order. Keep the approved specification as the reference for inspection and later supply.

Output and projection

What belongs in a 500W lighting specification?

A 500W LED flood light combines a defined input-power rating with a choice of optical distributions for large outdoor lighting tasks.
Start with the distance to the target and the surface that needs light. Narrow optics concentrate output toward a selected direction; broader optics spread it across a larger nearby area. Mounting position and aiming determine which distribution suits the task. Use the FL20-500W's product data and the selected optic's photometry to compare layouts. Evaluate the light reaching each working zone and the space needed to install the fixtures before choosing the version for your site.

Product and supply details

Check construction and delivery requirements

Review the fixture details and packing arrangements against the questions your project needs to resolve.

Optical configuration

The listed lens and glass-cover routes give the lighting designer distinct options to evaluate. Their angle labels alone do not establish site uniformity.

Rear thermal surface

The finned aluminum housing needs exposure to ambient air. The crossarm arrangement should preserve cooling space and access to the rear.

Rated enclosure

The FL20-500W is listed with IP65 and IK08 ratings. Additional environmental approvals must be assessed against the actual installation conditions.

Transport preparation

As a 500W LED flood light OEM supplier, VST can organize custom packing identification so the substantial fixtures are traceable to the agreed project release.

Component assessment

Examine the source, cooling body and mounting support

Each of these components affects a different part of the installation.

Primary emitter

SMD3030 LED array

This model uses SMD3030 LEDs. Select the CCT and color-rendering option for the surfaces people need to recognize, then compare the output and color data for the complete fixture. The LED array produces the light before it passes through the selected optics. Use the specified sample as the reference when assessing the proposed light source and approving the fixture build.

Thermal structure

Finned aluminum enclosure

The finned enclosure transfers heat to the surrounding air. Nearby equipment or closely grouped fixtures can restrict airflow on a mast crossarm. Check the proposed orientation and the actual ambient conditions, and leave access for maintenance. Compare the actual conditions at the mounting point with the published operating range; the luminaire's temperature specification alone cannot establish conditions at every high-level position.

Mechanical interface

Pivoting mounting yoke

The yoke connects the housing to its support and lets you set the aim. For a 500W unit, the support design needs to account for the product and the site's loads. Leave access to the pivot bolts and enough cable movement for adjustment. Supply the product details to the structural engineer; a familiar bracket shape does not establish a certified mast connection.

Application planning

Large-site roles to assess before specification

Evaluate 500W LED flood lights against the requirements of each large-site zone.

Container terminal yards

Consider a 500W LED flood light for a terminal yard where container stacks and vehicle movements shape the lighting task. Specify stack patterns, mounting positions, marine exposure and the site design criteria. VST can discuss the optic and supply fixture information for the lighting calculation and the assessment of environmental suitability.

Sports-ground surroundings

Sports-ground exterior zones may need substantial illumination for access and circulation around the venue. Identify the task, viewing directions and proposed mounting positions, including where people move between the grounds and surrounding facilities. Our team can assess the fixture's role and identify photometric data needed to develop the exterior lighting plan.

Transport maintenance aprons

Transport maintenance aprons combine large stationary vehicles with inspection and service positions. Record equipment envelopes, working surfaces and the reach available from permitted mounting locations, including access needed for future maintenance. VST can support optical selection and provide product data for the design team to assess the operational arrangement.

Bulk logistics staging

A bulk logistics staging area needs visibility around temporary stacks and vehicle transfer paths over a wide surface. Show the maximum staging layout and adjacent boundaries, and specify operating periods before choosing mounting points. VST can help prepare a fixture schedule and supply the data needed for an area-lighting calculation.

Large industrial assembly yards

Outdoor assembly yards may need light on large workpieces as well as the ground around them. Describe the changing workpiece shape, crane activity and permitted supports, and define the lighting criteria for the task. VST can discuss an optic and the fixture connections and mounting details for the site's engineering team.

Project specification

Start with the installation, not just the wattage

Share the site layout, proposed mounting positions and quantity. VST can help select the optical configuration and identify the photometric and mechanical information needed for your quotation.

VST can quote selected optics, a driver interface, housing finish and project labels as your 500W LED flood light OEM supplier. We assess further mechanical or electrical changes against your requirements, then identify any tooling or sample work before including those changes in production.
The order specification identifies the parts and assembly requirements. VST checks production at incoming, in-process, final and outgoing stages. Packing needs to protect the housing and yoke, with the agreed product identification kept visible for receipt and installation.
Use a qualified installation team with suitable equipment. Isolate power and obtain approval for the structural support before handling the fixture at height. Check the supply, protection and control wiring, and protect the external connection. Secure and aim the fixture according to the project documents, then complete commissioning checks.

Order planning

Organize the project supply

Clarify the commercial steps alongside the technical scope.
01

A general initial quantity of 20 pieces can be discussed for this higher-value category. VST will state the minimum alongside the selected construction and customization scope in the quotation.
02

Yes, samples are available. Ask your 500W LED flood light supplier to identify the configuration being supplied and the evaluation information available with it. Sample-charge credit against a subsequent bulk order can be agreed with VST, without assuming automatic reimbursement.
03

Regular builds typically need 2 to 3 weeks in production. Light customization generally extends that to 3 to 4 weeks, and extensive changes to 4 to 6 weeks. Shipping, access equipment and commissioning sit outside these production ranges and should be planned separately.
04

The usual bulk terms are bank transfer, with a 30% deposit and the remaining 70% before dispatch. Sample supply is fully prepaid and may use PayPal, Western Union or bank transfer. Project-specific arrangements must appear in the agreed order documents.
05

Send the product identification, a concise issue description and supporting photographs or video. VST can assess the case and discuss a replacement sent independently or with a subsequent shipment. The process does not imply a blanket promise covering installation damage or all associated site costs.

Product questions

Evidence and interfaces for the large-site installation

A 500W LED flood light purchase often depends on information shared between the lighting, electrical and structural teams. Resolve the remaining evidence and interface questions before the product is treated as an approved part of the final installation.

A photograph is useful for an initial discussion, but it cannot establish structural capacity. The responsible structural engineer needs the relevant mast, crossarm, fixing and site-load information. Product dimensions and mass support that assessment; neither a product photo nor nominal fixture power replaces it.

Set the intended activity and site criteria first, then gather the following information for your project team.
Illumination Calculation using the selected photometry
Camera use Relevant flicker and color evidence
Structure Support and wind-load assessment

Broadcast suitability is not established for the listed 500W LED flood light. Specify the camera requirements, flicker limits, color criteria and illumination targets, then obtain evidence for the selected build. A higher CRI option addresses color rendering; it does not establish flicker performance or broadcast compliance.

The published information does not establish a remote-driver version or its allowable cable arrangement. Raise this requirement before ordering. Driver location, electrical interface, cable distance and protection must be evaluated as a complete configuration rather than inferred from the listed driver name.

Not in the published AC 100 to 277V configuration. State the actual site supply before requesting a quotation, including whether a suitable lower-voltage supply is available. The electrical designer should resolve the supply arrangement; the 500W power rating does not imply compatibility with 480V.

The listed ingress and impact ratings do not establish corrosion endurance or a site-specific wind approval. Define those requirements separately and request relevant evidence. The installed system also includes the mast, fasteners and wiring, whose suitability cannot be demonstrated by the luminaire enclosure rating alone.
