Custom night lights for OEM and private-label production
VST develops OEM custom night lights for batch production under your brand. Our structural, electrical and optical teams help specify the sample. You can then evaluate light coupling, control access and product handling before setting the construction and assembly requirements for repeat orders.
Develop the decorative light surface without hiding the essential assembly interfaces.
Match button access and power routing to the way the product is used.
Evaluate base stability and packing protection alongside the illuminated appearance.
Share the intended use and a sketch or reference style; undecided features can remain open during the initial discussion.
Select the product use and its everyday handling
As a custom night light supplier, VST develops custom night lights around the intended handling, power connection and appearance. The visible design can be customized separately, with working connections specified for that use.

Consider rear lead routing and a stable supported enclosure.
Guest-room desk accessory
Operating environment
A small light alongside other desk items.
Buyer requirement
A custom LED night light with a straightforward interface.
Design constraint
Frequent handling exposes surfaces and light-panel edges.
Design direction
Evaluate a retained insert and accessible physical button.
Hallway console accent
Operating environment
A freestanding product on a narrow dry console.
Buyer requirement
A low-level decorative light with consistent assembly.
Design constraint
A small support surface limits practical base placement.
Design direction
Develop the footprint and cable clearance around that surface.
Separate appearance choices from product use risks
Artwork overwhelms light coupling
Purchasing risk: A dense decorative treatment may create an appearance very different from the plain sample.
Confirm: Proposed artwork density and placement
VST solution direction: Evaluate the final surface treatment on the chosen light-coupling assembly.
Unclear power expectations
Purchasing risk: A tabletop USB concept may be mistaken for a battery or direct-mains product during product-range planning.
VST solution direction: Specify the power connection and identify optional functions separately in the product description.
Panel damage during handling
Purchasing risk: An exposed decorative insert can place leverage on its retaining slot or suffer edge damage.
Confirm: Expected removal frequency of the decorative insert
VST solution direction: Assess panel retention and the protection needed when the product is handled.
Develop the base, light surface and user interface
For OEM custom night lights, the enclosure, visible insert and controls can each change. Keep their assembly requirements clear as you develop the appearance, especially the power connection, panel retention and expected everyday handling.
Base geometry and finish
We can develop the enclosure shape, finish and footprint around the product concept. A slimmer base leaves less room for panel retention, controls and internal assembly. Changing that construction may require a new mold.
Buyer input: Maximum footprint and preferred finish treatment
Decorative light surface
Custom made night lights can use your chosen translucent surface, outline and artwork. A more intricate insert can change light coupling and edge protection. Evaluate the final artwork on the material and assembly you intend to use.
Buyer input: Final artwork format and protected edge requirements
Control and optional functions
Physical switching, dimming and a project-specific sensor can be discussed separately. A sensor needs a defined position and activation condition. The tabletop concept shown has a button; it does not establish how an optional sensor would operate.
Buyer input: Desired activation and manual override behavior
Electrical and assembly access
A USB-fed or other specified low-voltage assembly can have a suitable cable exit and internal retention. Adding a battery or direct-mains power changes the engineering and evidence required, even if you keep the exterior design.
Buyer input: Included power source and internal service expectations
Compare an integrated light face with a retained insert
Compare an integrated light face with a removable retained insert. The choice affects artwork updates, assembly access and protection of exposed edges. Select it around the way the product will be handled and changed.
Decision factor
Integrated illuminated face
Retained decorative insert
Buyer guidance
Artwork change
Update the integrated surface or complete light head
Exchange the defined insert within its retained interface
Choose exchangeable artwork only when the retaining interface is maintained.
Handling boundary
Light face stays inside the assembly envelope
Insert extends above its supporting base slot
Use the handling environment to assess exposed-panel protection.
Assembly access
Surface and enclosure developed as one package
Panel retention and base coupling developed separately
Consider which parts must remain replaceable in the product range.
Packing emphasis
Protect the complete enclosure and luminous face
Restrain the upright insert and its base interface
The pack should prevent leverage on the light-coupling joint.
Turn the product concept into an assembly definition
As a custom night light manufacturer, VST develops the light surface and electrical assembly to suit the enclosure. Our multidisciplinary team defines a sample that lets you evaluate the proposed appearance and how the product works.
01
Concept and interface definition
VST work: Identify the decorative design separately from the base, power and controls that determine the working assembly.
Stage output: A product description separating appearance from the required functions.
02
Light-coupling sample build
VST work: Build the chosen light surface and its base connection into a sample with the intended electrical interface.
Stage output: A working sample with the specified panel retention and control.
03
Handling and fit evaluation
VST work: Check panel retention, base stability and control access in the intended placement and handling conditions.
Stage output: Recorded retention and enclosure changes for the product design.
04
Build and packing release
VST work: Record the assembly revision and packing supports needed to protect the light surface during repeated handling.
Stage output: The product build specification and its protective packing requirements.
Evaluate the visible product and its working interfaces
Custom night lights need optical and thermal checks, with evaluation of fit, sustained operation and controls. The chosen power and enclosure determine what to test. A concept image does not establish safety, certification or battery performance.
Optical appearance measurement
Purpose: Establish the selected source’s output and light-color behavior.
Method: After placing the supported lamp inside the integrating sphere, close its door and take readings at the specified input.
Acceptance criteria: The measured characteristics follow the agreed light-source specification for the product.
Base temperature assessment
Purpose: Identify heat concentration around the light coupling and control region.
Method: Operate the supported lamp and record contact temperatures at the selected housing and internal-source support points.
Acceptance criteria: Measured locations remain within the chosen material and component limits.
Enclosure dimensional inspection
Purpose: Check the product footprint and interface dimensions before assembly release.
Method: Use a suitable caliper on the unpowered housing and compare dimensions with the selected base and panel envelope.
Acceptance criteria: The enclosure dimensions conform to the retained panel and support interfaces.
Sustained operating evaluation
Purpose: Observe unintended interruptions or visible material changes.
Method: Run powered samples on the aging rack with the selected light setting and agreed operating cycle.
Acceptance criteria: The lamps remain functional without unexplained output loss or visible damage during evaluation.
User-control function check
Purpose: Establish usable operation of the selected manual interface.
Method: Exercise the integral button with the connected power source and evaluate the requested switching or dimming states.
Acceptance criteria: The button produces the specified response without unintended state changes.
Documentation for the actual product construction
Product-specific compliance scope
To Confirm
Applicable evidence depends on the final power arrangement, functions, materials and intended product use.
Artwork and assembly revision
To Confirm
Production artwork needs to match the selected light surface and the accepted product-build revision.
Establish the development scope for your product range
MOQ approach
For one model of custom night lights, normal starting MOQ is 500 units on a lightly customized platform, or 1,000 units for high customization. A new enclosure, optical part, board or production process adds development work. The quotation specifies the chosen product, its customization level and final quantity.
Sampling support
VST supports sample development for the chosen product concept. Processing charges apply, with possible tooling or mold costs if new production resources are needed. A qualifying sample expense can be returned, or used to offset a later production order. The quotation or agreed order terms specify the eligible amount and how the return or credit works.
Lead-time factors
Samples for light customization normally take 15 to 25 working days, with bulk production at 20 to 30 working days. High-customization samples need 30 to 50 working days and bulk production 25 to 35 working days. These periods begin after the technical information is complete, applicable sample and tooling fees are settled, and deposit requirements or other order conditions are met. Reserving key materials for stable demand can shorten subsequent production lead times.
Tooling / NRE
New base molding, a shaped optical part, a dedicated board or assembly fixture may need tooling or NRE charges. An eligible mold or tooling expense can offset payment on an agreed later production order. Specify the qualifying order, applicable amount and method in the commercial terms. Intellectual-property or exclusive-use rights require a separate explicit agreement.
Supply stability
VST coordinates established suppliers and controls repeat builds using the selected product revision. Stable-demand orders can use forecast-based preparation or agreed material reserves, including the chosen enclosure and light-surface material. That supports continuity and steadier scheduling for later orders, without promising stock of finished products on demand.
Packaging & logistics
Packaging and brand artwork can be customized with labels and barcodes for the order. User manuals, instruction sheets and carton marks can also be adapted to the night-light range. Packing for custom LED night lights should protect exposed panels and keep loads off the retaining joint. Shipment coordination follows the product construction and protective packing requirements.
Clarify the remaining boundaries of your night-light design
Appearance changes and new functions can affect a night light in different ways. The questions below explain which revisions need assembly checks, what a battery version would involve and which commercial rights require a separate agreement. They also cover use claims that need product evidence. Talk to VST about any custom night lights requirement that remains open before treating the concept as the final product specification.
Can artwork be changed without redeveloping the working assembly?+
Sometimes, if the change stays within the specified material and retaining connections. A new outline or material can affect the working assembly more than a graphic update. Use those differences to choose which checks the revision needs.

Light coupling and material suitability
Does the concept include rechargeable battery operation?+
The shown tabletop concept uses USB power and has no established battery function. Rechargeable custom night lights need a specified battery, charger, protection and enclosure, with applicable evidence and shipping considerations. Discuss that requirement explicitly. A similar-looking exterior does not establish suitability of the internal assembly for battery operation.
Can a design be supplied exclusively to our product range?+
Exclusivity needs a separate commercial and design agreement. Identify the artwork, enclosure, tooling or development it covers, along with permitted uses and supply conditions. Sample development or a tooling payment alone does not grant exclusive ownership, unrestricted design rights or a protected territory for sales of the product.
Is the product automatically suitable for a children’s room?+
The concept does not establish suitability for a particular age group. Evaluate accessible parts, power, materials and handling for the intended use. A toy or certified child-safe claim needs supporting documentation for the selected construction. Decorative artwork does not establish that evidence or resolve the product-use requirements.
