Continuous light, buildable contour

Custom Neon Lights for the Shape You Need

VST develops custom neon lights around your line, mounting surface and cable exit. As a custom neon lights manufacturer, we start with an existing bend-compatible silicone profile when it fits. A new section is proposed when the shape or installation needs it; a sketch is enough for the first discussion.

  • Uniform silicone light line without exposed LED points
  • Bend plane and end-entry choices planned together
  • Protected mounting and repeatable segment definition

Share a contour sketch, mounting photo or approximate overall size; exact artwork and wiring details can follow.

Where a Continuous Line Belongs

The mounting route determines whether a neon profile can trace a contour, recess or display feature. Plan the cable exit and supports with the light line so it stays fixed after installation.

Contour and Connection Risks

Artwork demands a corner tighter than the selected profile can bend.

Purchasing risk: The section may kink, twist or pull from its clips.

Confirm: Actual contour and bend direction

VST solution direction: Use a larger radius, a suitable profile orientation or a planned joint.

The light line ends at a surface with no cable passage.

Purchasing risk: A visible wire or exposed joint can spoil the installed appearance.

Confirm: Backboard or channel access

VST solution direction: Place the protected exit and service cavity before the end cap is fixed.

A long continuous run is defined without a power route.

Purchasing risk: Far-end brightness and connection loads may differ from the sample.

Confirm: Run length and supply location

VST solution direction: Divide and feed the run according to its electrical load and installed route.

Neon Profile and Assembly Choices

At our custom neon lights factory, color, cut length and lead can often change without a new profile. An unusual cross-section, channel or optical target may require fresh extrusion or end tooling.

Emission and bend plane

Top-emitting and side-emitting profiles put the luminous face on different surfaces. The bend must stay within the selected profile plane; forcing the wrong plane can twist or damage the section.

Line and color

Diffusion, color appearance and segment grouping can follow the intended visual effect. A color or control option is developed with a matching LED and electrical architecture.

Buyer input: Color target and control need

Mounting route

Clips, shallow channels and backboard fixing can be chosen for the host surface. Clip spacing, end support and access determine how the line holds its shape after installation.

Ends and power

Cut position, molded cap, protected feed, lead length and connector can be set for the assembly sequence. The connection is kept out of the visible light line.

Choose the Emitting Face

Choose the emitting face from where the line will be seen. The top-emitting profile directs light toward the viewer above the run; the side-emitting profile is viewed from its edge. Check the face and bend plane in a mounted sample.

Turn a Shape into a Repeatable Assembly

As a custom neon lights manufacturer, VST turns your contour into a profile and segment plan that stays within the supported bend plane. A mounted sample then fixes the ends, clips and electrical connection for repeat production.

Checks for a Flexible Neon Assembly

As a custom neon lights supplier, VST checks the powered line, bend retention and temperature at the end entry on the chosen sample. The test plan also sets the viewing position for judging visible gaps or source points.

Electrical operation

Purpose: Identify supply and connection issues on the selected segment.

Method: Connect the complete sample through its protected two-wire feed to a suitable DC source and observe the operating circuit.

Acceptance criteria: Operation is stable within the agreed electrical design.

Evidence: The operating circuit observations can be recorded for the assembled neon segment.

Line uniformity

Purpose: Detect visible dark joints or source points.

Method: Photograph the installed, powered contour from the planned viewing position in a controlled darkened bay.

Acceptance criteria: Appearance meets the agreed sample reference.

Evidence: A lit contour photograph at the agreed view can accompany the neon sample.

Bend and retention

Purpose: Check that the profile sits in its mounting route without twist or pull-out.

Method: Use a radius template and supported channel on the assembled sample.

Acceptance criteria: The profile retains the planned contour without damage or displaced clips.

Evidence: The radius template and clip-position observations can be filed with the contour drawing.

End-entry thermal observation

Purpose: Locate heat concentration near the molded end and cable transition.

Method: Operate the supported sample, inspect with a thermal camera and place a probe at the defined entry point.

Acceptance criteria: Compare the stabilized observation with the chosen component and material limits.

Evidence: An end-entry temperature log may document the selected neon construction.

Commercial Planning for Custom Neon Lights

MOQ approach

An existing silicone profile with changes to color, length or lead usually starts at 500 units for one model. Developing a new profile or special end generally raises the initial quantity to 1,000 pieces of that model. The quote sets the final count for each segment definition.

Sampling support

VST supports a representative bent and mounted sample. Processing charges apply, and a newly molded end or profile can bring tooling charges. Written terms may return qualifying sample costs or deduct them from payment for a later production order.

Lead-time factors

Adapting an available profile usually needs 15–25 working days for a sample and 20–30 for a batch. A new molded construction normally needs 30–50 working days for its sample and 25–35 for bulk output. The clock starts after contour, electrical details and applicable fees or deposit are settled.

Tooling / NRE

A new silicone section, molded cap or dedicated retention fixture may require tooling. Eligible mold or tooling charges can be credited against a later production payment under a written qualifying order and amount.

Supply stability

When the same contour recurs, the profile, end treatment, color target and segment drawing define the reorder. For steady demand, VST can prepare or reserve agreed key materials against your forecast. Finished segments are built for the order.

Packaging & logistics

Neon segments need bend-safe packing so tight loops and crushing loads do not develop in transit. VST can prepare a shaped insert and carton for the released contour, then add the agreed brand artwork, label, barcode, installation instructions and manual.

Questions Before You Build the Neon Layout

Architectural and display layouts often begin with a sketch. The build still needs a bend-compatible profile, a mounting route and a power feed that can be hidden or serviced. A sample helps you see where joints fall and whether the line remains even at the intended viewing distance. Before ordering repeated shapes, specify which clips, backboard parts and electrical accessories belong to the supplied assembly.

Can a curved architectural outline use one continuous neon run?

Some contours need planned joints because the profile has a bend plane and minimum radius. VST converts the layout into manufacturable segments and shows where the ends and feeds sit.

Does the quotation include the mounting backboard?

The supply list states whether clips, channel and a backboard are included. A display backing and the flexible light engine are separate supply scopes.

Part Scope to define
Neon segment Profile, color and length
Mounting Clips, channel or backboard
Electrical Lead, connector and external supply
Can the line be installed outdoors?

Outdoor use depends on the profile, end seal, cable entry and exposure at the site. Specify those conditions before selecting a construction, and request test evidence for the proposed outdoor build.

How are several matching shapes powered?

The layout specifies segment lengths, feeds and grouping so the selected supply and controls suit the installed run. Those details are established from the actual artwork and location.

Can a damaged segment be replaced without remaking the full display?

Replacement depends on accessible joints and a released segment map. A segmented layout can make service easier when mounting and cable access are designed for removal.
