VST is a custom desk lamp manufacturer for branded product programs and repeat supply. We develop the essential lighting function before adding optional features. Typical starting quantities per model are 500 units with light customization, or 1,000 units with high customization. The illustrated task-light concept is a development option, not a stock promise.
Share the workspace, brand requirements, and expected order quantity; we can discuss the lamp model for your production program.

Position a custom desk light for the surface and controls people need to reach. Screens, guest writing desks, and study carrels can use the same basic concept while needing different placement.

Purchasing risk: Extending the lighting reach can increase the tendency to tip.
Confirm: Intended adjustment positions and reach
VST solution direction: Check the base and support with the head in each intended working position.
Purchasing risk: Users may mistake dimming, switching, or mode selection in daily use.
Confirm: Preferred button sequence and power-on state
VST solution direction: Specify the main button behavior before adding further modes or functions.
Purchasing risk: A poorly placed lead exit can destabilize the lamp or wear against furniture.
VST solution direction: Position the rear lead exit and strain relief for the cable route around the furniture.
A finish change and a new pivot require different work. With VST as your custom desk lamp OEM supplier, you can discuss appearance alongside light delivery and mechanics before deciding which parts need development.
Develop head length, diffuser treatment, and source shielding for the task area. A larger luminous surface also changes the physical reach and appearance of the head. Consider those changes together with the supporting structure.
Discuss the base shape, stem proportions, and pivot for the intended workspace. More movement places greater demands on the joint and cable route. The chosen support must keep the final adjustment range practical.
Set the dimming, white-light appearance, and switching behavior for daily use. Where people use the lamp only briefly, simple controls may be more useful than extra modes. The proposed settings need to suit that interaction.
Finishes and branding for custom desk lamps are developed around a batch production program. A personalized desk lamp requires an agreed marking method, artwork, and model quantity. Individual engraving or one-piece retail service is not included in this offer.
Buyer input: Branding location and desired visible marking treatment
Check the desk construction before choosing the support for a custom desk lamp. A clamp version needs its own evaluated structure, including suitable edge access; replacing a base alone does not establish compatibility.
| Decision factor | Freestanding weighted base | Desk-edge clamp | Buyer guidance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Desktop use | Base occupies part of the working surface | Clamp leaves more of the surface clear | Check the usable work area after positioning the lamp. |
| Furniture compatibility | Requires a stable level support surface | Requires a suitable edge thickness and underside access | Choose only a mount that the actual desk can support. |
| Relocation | Moves without undoing a furniture attachment | Must be released and retightened at a new position | Consider how frequently the lamp will change locations. |
VST develops the sample and production specification as your custom desk lamp supplier. We check the space the lamp occupies, its assembly, and how the head adjusts, then identify the construction and appearance to retain in later builds.
VST work: Set the base footprint and head projection for the intended desk and support arrangement.
Stage output: Proposed proportions showing desk footprint and head reach.

VST work: Assemble the selected stem and pivot, then examine how the joint seats and is fastened.
Stage output: Physical lamp sample using the proposed head-adjustment mechanism.

VST work: Move the head through its working positions and check its relationship to the supported lamp body.
Stage output: Adjustment findings for the intended working positions.

VST work: Compare complete lamps with the retained sample before releasing the construction for repeat orders.
Stage output: Product specification recording the finish, mechanism, and assembly revision.

VST proposes checks for the final construction as your custom desk lamp supplier. The methods below cover light behavior and mechanical use. Equipment and setup images explain the process; project-specific records are needed before claiming results.

Purpose: Characterize the complete lamp output and color under the selected operating state.
Method: Measure a compatible specimen in an appropriately sized sphere with the required mounting and supply arrangement.
Acceptance criteria: Optical values correspond to the agreed lamp specification.
Evidence: The report must identify the lamp configuration and setting tested.

Purpose: Establish the distribution relevant to the intended task-light application.
Method: Use a suitable dark-room goniophotometric setup with the lamp securely supported in a defined head position.
Acceptance criteria: Distribution information matches the measured position and light setting.
Evidence: An IES file needs a corresponding light-distribution measurement.

Purpose: Identify rocking or unintended misalignment in the assembled supporting structure.
Method: Inspect the unpowered lamp on a flat reference surface and compare relevant alignment with a suitable square.
Acceptance criteria: The base seats correctly and the structure follows the assembly definition.
Evidence: This visual check does not establish a numerical stability or load rating.

Purpose: Evaluate whether the intended adjustment holds the head without interfering with normal movement.
Method: Move the unpowered head through the specified positions and observe the joint and cable behavior.
Acceptance criteria: The selected position remains stable and movement does not damage the assembly.
Evidence: Specify the repetitions and recording method for any endurance requirement.
Captures the selected physical assembly, light settings, and control behavior for development and repeat production.
Check which records cover the final lamp rather than its source, driver, or an earlier construction.
For a single lamp model, light customization normally starts at 500 units. The typical starting MOQ for high customization is 1,000 units. A suitable platform adaptation differs from substantial changes to the base, head, optics, electronics, or tooling. The final model quantity appears in the quotation; unrelated personalized versions are not automatically combined.
VST provides sample development for evaluating the proposed task lamp. Processing fees apply, and a new mold or dedicated manufacturing resource may incur tooling charges. Eligible sampling expenditure may qualify for return or credit on a subsequent production order. Agree the amount and method in writing; samples and successive changes are not assumed free.
Samples normally take 15–25 working days for light customization and 30–50 for high customization. Bulk production is typically 20–30 working days for light changes and 25–35 for high customization. Timing starts after the technical inputs and applicable sample payments, tooling fees, deposit, or other order conditions are satisfied. Stable demand can support reserved key materials for faster repeat scheduling.
A new base, head housing, pivot, circuit, or assembly fixture can require tooling or NRE spending. A credit toward a subsequent production payment may be available for eligible tooling or mold charges. Record the order that qualifies, the credit amount, and its application method in the written terms. Reimbursement depends on that agreement.
VST is a custom desk lamp supplier in China that coordinates suppliers and repeat-production controls for the retained model. Predictable demand allows preparation against forecasts, including reserves of agreed key materials. This supports continuity and change management. It does not guarantee that finished lamps are in stock for every order.
Packing should protect the head, pivot, finish, and base during handling. We can customize product packaging and instruction sheets, brand artwork, user manuals, identification labels, barcodes, and carton marks. Clear model identification helps distinguish finishes. Agree the packing before shipment coordination, with freight and transit details established separately.
Extra functions and personalized versions can change what needs to be developed. These questions cover charging, marking, remembered settings, and the furniture around the lamp. If your custom desk lamp combines lighting with another function, contact VST to agree which parts belong in the lighting assembly and which additional features require their own evaluation before the work is priced.
Charging can be evaluated as an additional function. It is not an assumed feature of the illustrated lamp and adds requirements beyond lighting and its controls. Include it in the request before pricing the assembly.
| Function | Additional scope |
|---|---|
| USB output | Power budget and interface |
| Wireless charging | Placement and electrical evaluation |
| Battery operation | Charging, protection, and transport assessment |
Branding and finish customization are available for production runs. Share the artwork, marking position, lamp model, and expected quantity so VST can assess the production requirements. Single-piece engraving is outside this offer.
It can be included in the proposed controls, depending on the selected electronics. Specify whether the lamp should remember its setting after a wall-switch power interruption or only after using its own button. Those are different operating conditions and need to be addressed separately.
The furniture is supplied separately unless the agreement explicitly includes it. Custom desk lamps can be developed for a particular surface while another party supplies the desk. Identify any mounting or connection dependencies so both products can be coordinated and each delivery remains clear.
