Built for the ceiling opening

Custom Ceiling Lights for the Opening You Have

As a custom ceiling lights manufacturer, VST sizes the frame, trim and diffuser to your aperture and plans access to the driver. Send an opening photo or rough dimensions; you will receive a proposed construction and the details needed for the first sample.

  • Panel outline and trim matched to the ceiling system
  • Driver and service access treated as part of the fit
  • Sample construction fixed before repeat production

Send an opening photo, approximate aperture or existing panel. Full drawings can follow once the route is clear.

Ceiling Conditions That Change the Panel Choice

Custom ceiling lights depend on panel size, support and finished appearance together. As a custom ceiling lights supplier, VST provides the selected light assembly and defines its connection to the host ceiling, access hatch and site electrical work.

Where a Standard Panel Commonly Fails

The nominal panel size matches but the support edge does not.

Purchasing risk: The frame may sit proud or lack secure bearing.

Confirm: Usable opening and support shoulder

VST solution direction: We use the actual ceiling section to define the occupied frame envelope.

The driver is assigned above a sealed or inaccessible bay.

Purchasing risk: A failed driver could require opening the finished ceiling.

Confirm: Driver location and access hatch

VST solution direction: The cable and driver route is established with a serviceable installation path.

The light looks even on a bench but not from the normal viewing position.

Purchasing risk: An edge or source pattern can become visible after installation.

Confirm: Viewing distance and target appearance

VST solution direction: The diffuser and mixing depth are selected against the finished view.

What Can Change in the Ceiling Assembly

At our custom ceiling lights factory, the first capability decision is whether an existing panel platform can be cut or trimmed, or whether the opening needs a new frame or optical stack. A new construction is developed when the existing route cannot meet the installation and appearance constraints.

Opening and frame

Outline, visible trim and fixing edge can follow the recess or grid. An available frame is preferred; a new section is considered when the support geometry cannot be met.

Buyer input: Opening photo or section

Diffuser and optical stack

VST can change diffuser opacity, LED spacing and mixing depth for the intended viewing distance. All three affect uniformity.

Buyer input: Viewing position and appearance target

Driver and controls

Driver position, protected feed and control interface can be coordinated with the ceiling service route. The electrical set is defined for the chosen panel, not assumed from a generic rating.

Buyer input: Available supply and dimming method

Finish and packing

Frame finish, protective handling and marking can be specified for a multi-room project. These choices do not imply that a ceiling grid or site bracket is supplied unless listed.

Edge-Lit or Back-Lit Ceiling Panel

Choose the optical stack from the available ceiling depth and the appearance required at normal viewing distance. An edge-lit guide and a back-lit board place the light source in different positions.

From Opening Detail to Panel Build

As a custom ceiling lights manufacturer, VST begins with the opening and produces a frame section, cable route and optical sample. The final drawing and parts list identify the panel build for later production.

Checks That Match a Ceiling Panel

As a custom ceiling lights supplier, VST sets optical, thermal and fit checks for the chosen panel size. You can specify which results need to be recorded for the sample and how the frame should sit in the ceiling opening.

Integrating-sphere optical check

Purpose: Determine luminous and color characteristics of the selected build.

Method: Mount the unlit sample inside the open sphere, route the feed through a proper port, close the door, then measure.

Acceptance criteria: Compare the recorded result with the agreed optical target.

Evidence: An optical measurement sheet can be supplied if this check is commissioned on the released panel.

Diffuser appearance inspection

Purpose: Find visible source points or uneven regions at the normal view.

Method: Operate the assembled sample in a controlled viewing area at the intended distance.

Acceptance criteria: Accept the specified appearance for that viewing condition.

Evidence: A viewing-distance photo record may accompany the accepted panel sample.

Thermal observation

Purpose: Check hot spots near the light engine and rear cable area.

Method: Operate the panel on a supported fixture and log defined surface points after stabilization.

Acceptance criteria: Compare temperatures with the agreed materials and component limits.

Evidence: A temperature-point log can be issued for the specified panel mounting and duty.

Frame fit check

Purpose: Ensure the panel bears correctly on the ceiling support.

Method: Use the opening fixture and verify outside edge, seating and access position.

Acceptance criteria: Frame sits on the planned support with the intended clearance.

Evidence: An accepted opening fixture and fit record can document the seating result.

IES light-distribution method

Purpose: Understand angular light output when the project requires photometric planning.

Method: Mount the finished panel on a suitable goniophotometer holder in a dark room.

Acceptance criteria: Provide an IES file or report only for a test actually performed on the released configuration.

Evidence: An IES file or distribution report follows only an actual test on the released configuration.

Commercial Planning for Custom Ceiling Lights

MOQ approach

For one model, light adaptation of an existing ceiling panel typically starts at 500 units. A new frame or optical construction usually calls for 1,000 units of the same model as the starting quantity. The quote states the route and final quantity for the chosen opening.

Sampling support

A ceiling sample can settle seating, edge finish and light appearance. Processing charges apply; a dedicated frame or fixture may add tooling cost. The quotation can arrange a later refund or credit for eligible sample expenditure under written project terms.

Lead-time factors

For light changes, the sample normally needs 15–25 working days; a production batch generally needs 20–30. A new frame or optical build usually takes 30–50 working days to sample and 25–35 for bulk production. These periods start after the design inputs and applicable fees or deposit are complete.

Tooling / NRE

A new extrusion, diffuser mold or mounting fixture may need tooling. An eligible tooling charge can be credited against payment for a later order when the qualifying quantity, amount and method are written into the commercial terms.

Supply stability

The released panel specification lists the frame, light engine, diffuser and driver. For stable demand, VST may prepare or reserve agreed key materials to schedule repeat runs more reliably. Finished panels are still produced against the order.

Packaging & logistics

The frame and diffuser need edge and face protection in transit. For a panel order, VST can prepare protective inserts, sized cartons, barcodes, labels, brand artwork, instruction sheets and manuals. Freight and packing quantities follow the chosen size and shipment.

Before You Specify the Ceiling Panel

If your ceiling opening is still changing, a current photo and the intended light appearance are enough to begin. The support edge, driver location and access hatch will determine the finished construction. You can also decide which optical or electrical checks need records for the sample. Those choices establish what belongs in the first quote and what can remain open.

Can the panel be quoted before the exact ceiling opening is final?

Yes. An opening photo, provisional size and ceiling type allow an initial construction route. The production drawing is set after the support edge and access position are established.

Which parts are included with a custom ceiling panel?

The quotation lists the panel assembly and any agreed driver, bracket or cable set. The host ceiling, grid and site wiring are separate unless they are explicitly included.

Item Decision before order
Panel frame Outside size and bearing edge
Driver Supply, control and service position
Ceiling support Provided by the project or listed accessory
Can one panel construction be used in several ceiling bays?

Only when the actual apertures, support shoulders and driver access are compatible. A common light engine may still use different frame lengths; the variant schedule separates those parts.

How is a damaged diffuser replaced later?

The chosen frame must allow the rigid diffuser to be removed in the intended service sequence. The released assembly record identifies the matching diffuser and access method.

What should be fixed before repeating an order?

The frame revision, light engine, diffuser, driver interface and visible finish should be tied to the sample reference. A change in any of those items is recorded as a new variant.
