SARL1714 uses the same basic W17mm by H14mm size class as SAL1714, but its role is different: it is a recessed, slot-mounted optical profile. It supports up to 12.4mm LED strip and uses a 45 degree recessed lens effect for architectural grooves, office details, retail interiors and integrated structures where the profile should sit into the surface rather than remain as a standard surface channel. The side flange is part of the product value because it helps cover the slot edge and create a cleaner installed face. This is important when the profile edge remains visible after the ceiling, panel or shelf slot is finished.
The main purchasing risk is the cutout, not only the strip. Buyers must confirm slot width, depth, flange coverage, fixing access, cable route and beam direction before choosing SARL1714. A recessed profile can look excellent when the opening is correct, but it can create site work if the groove is too narrow, too shallow or misaligned with the intended light direction. VST can review drawings or mockup photos to help confirm whether the 45 degree optical output and flange position suit the installation.
SARL1714 should be described as an architectural integration profile, clearly separated from SAL1714’s surface retail use. It is useful when designers want the aluminum LED extrusion to disappear into the structure while the light remains directed and controlled. VST support for this model should focus on slot sizing, flange finish, recessed beam direction and sample checking. For contractors and OEM buyers, that reduces the risk of ordering a lens LED channel that performs optically but does not fit the physical opening. It is especially relevant for projects where installation accuracy and edge coverage are as important as light output.
